Historic background

The challenge of this route is to get to know the Celtic, Galician, Lusitanian, Turdetan, among others that were the pre-Roman soul of the Hispanic Peninsula and the Mediterranean.

You can visit the various places and get to know the lives of the people and peoples that inhabited them more than 2,000 years ago…

Current locations covered by the Route (with colored markers) and possible future locations (grey markers):

Rocha da Mina, Rock Sanctuary identified in the Archaeological Map of Alandroal in 1993, by archaeologist Manuel Calado, is a supposed place of a pre-Roman worship to the Endovelic God since century I BC.

It had human occupation until the Andalusian period (date of the ruins of the most recent existing buildings).
